Zed is one of the panelists for “On Faith”, a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced jointly by Newsweek and WashingtonPost.com.
He has been bestowed with “World Interfaith Leader Award”, “Nevada Religious Unity Award”, “Positive Pluralism & Unity Prize”, and other awards for interfaith dialogue.
He is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, Interfaith Ambassador of Nevada Clergy Association, Spiritual Advisor to National Assoc. of Interchurch & Interfaith Families, etc.

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the major religious festivals of our Hindus. This festival is observed in the Hindu calendar month of Avani or Purattasi / Bhadrapada, starting on the Shukla Chaturthi or the fourth day of the waxing moon period. It is a 10-day long festival that ends on Ananta Chaturdashi, which is traditionally celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha.

MAHALAKSHMI OR VARALAKSHMI VRATA
is a special vrata or fast dedicated to Hindu Goddess ‘Mahalakshmi,’ or as the name implies ‘Great Lakshmi’ (maha = great).
Lakshmi is the presiding deity of wealth, prosperity, light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity, and courage.
These eight facets of Lakshmi give rise to another name for the goddess — ‘Ashtalakshmi’ (ashta = eight).

NAVARATRI
During Navaratri, we invoke the energy aspect of God in the form of the universal mother, commonly referred to as “Durga,” which literally means the remover of miseries of life. She is also referred to as “Devi” (goddess) or “Shakti” (energy or power). It is this energy, which helps God to proceed with the work of creation, preservation, and destruction. In other words, you can say that God is motionless, absolutely changeless, and the Divine Mother Durga does everything. Truly speaking, our worship of Shakti re-confirms the scientific theory that energy is imperishable. It cannot be created or destroyed. It is always there.
